[Institution: Global IC Sales Rose 12% QoQ in the Third Quarter]

According to the latest data from the Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International (SEMI), global IC sales in the third quarter increased by 12% quarter-on-quarter (QoQ), primarily driven by seasonal factors and strong demand for investments in AI data centers. This growth trend is expected to continue into the fourth quarter, with global IC sales anticipated to grow by an additional 10% compared to the third quarter. SEMI stated that while the recovery in the consumer, automotive, and industrial sectors was slower in the third quarter, the robust demand for investments in AI data centers was the primary driver behind the growth in IC sales. It is projected that IC sales for the entire year will grow by over 20%, mainly fueled by the strong demand for data center storage, which has led to improved pricing for memory chips.
